Terms of Service

Effective July 2, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Lilmod LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("Lilmod," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using lilmod.app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian must authorize any paid subscription.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Keep your password secure and notify us at feedback@lilmod.app if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide accurate information when signing up.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Paid plans (currently Pro and BYOK) are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months, but we may issue refunds at our discretion — contact us if something went wrong.
  • AI usage on paid plans is subject to fair-use limits and monthly usage budgets, which we may adjust to keep the Service sustainable. We will give notice before any price change takes effect.

5. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

If you use your own AI provider API key, you are responsible for that key, for the costs it incurs, and for complying with the provider's terms. Your key is stored only in your browser and used to make requests on your behalf.

6. Content and Ownership

  • Torah texts and translations are sourced from Sefaria and other providers and remain subject to their respective licenses.
  • You own the notes, highlights, and other content you create. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to provide the Service.
  • The Lilmod software, design, and branding belong to Lilmod LLC. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service.

7. AI Disclaimer

AI-generated translations, definitions, summaries, and answers may contain errors. They are provided as study aids only and are not rabbinic, halachic, legal, medical, or professional advice. Consult a qualified authority for such questions.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Abuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • Scrape the Service or use it to build a competing dataset;
  • Reverse engineer the software except where the law permits;
  • Resell or share access to AI features or use them to violate any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 6–12 survive termination.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lilmod LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Disputes

  • Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  • Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, email feedback@lilmod.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally.
  • Arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You and Lilmod each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.
  • Consumer carve-out. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction where mandatory arbitration or class-action waivers are unenforceable (including the EU and UK), this section does not limit your statutory rights or your right to bring claims in your local courts.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes here and update the effective date; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
