Who We Are

Lilmod is operated by Lilmod LLC, a limited liability company formed in New Jersey, USA ("Lilmod," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use lilmod.app and how we use it. For any privacy question or request, email feedback@lilmod.app.

Information We Collect

Account information. Your email address and name, provided when you sign up with email or Google. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
Your saved work. Sessions, notes, highlights, translations, bookmarks, and workspace layouts you choose to save to your account. We store these solely so you can access them and sync them across your devices — we do not read, analyze, or use them for any other purpose.
Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and billing history; we never see or store your card number.
Support and feedback messages. Messages you send through the feedback widget or by email.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how signed-in users interact with app features. Session recording is disabled.
Error reports. We use Sentry to collect technical error data (such as browser type and stack traces) so we can fix bugs.

AI Features

When you use AI features (chat, translation, define, and similar), your prompt and the surrounding text are sent to OpenRouter and its underlying model providers to generate a response. Anonymized AI conversations — with no user or session identifiers attached — may be retained by Lilmod to improve the service.

If you bring your own API key (BYOK), your key is stored only in your browser. It is never stored on our servers.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in (Supabase authentication). We use your browser's local storage and IndexedDB for preferences, offline text caching, and workspace state. We do not use advertising cookies.

How We Use Your Information

We process your information to:

Provide the service and sync your saved work across your devices (performance of our contract with you);
Process payments and manage subscriptions (performance of contract);
Improve features, fix bugs, and secure the service (our legitimate interest);
Send account holders our newsletter (our legitimate interest — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Lilmod: Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), OpenRouter (AI), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare (infrastructure). Each processes data on our behalf under its own contractual obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention and Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete saved sessions and content in the app at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and its data from Account Settings. To request a copy of your data, email feedback@lilmod.app and we will respond within 30 days.

International Transfers

Lilmod is hosted in the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email feedback@lilmod.app. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Lilmod is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
